How we pick

Vertical Fintech is a short list, not a marketplace. A listing is here so a founder, COO, or head of fintech can tell whether a product fits the job, before they go read the vendor themselves.

Researched from public pages

Claims come from materials the vendor publishes: product pages, docs, pricing pages, newsrooms. If a fact is not on those pages, or it is not clear, it is omitted. No invented metrics, pricing, customer names, or geography.

Honest about fit

The verdict is a point of view, labeled as such. It says what the product is actually good for and what it is not. It is not a score, a ranking, or a sales email.

Not paid placement

There is no paid placement, no sponsor unit, and no affiliate link. The only outbound link on a listing is the vendor's official site.

Who belongs

A name is eligible only if a vertical software company can embed it to take a rate on money movement for its users. Miscellaneous is the supporting infrastructure, not a merchant processor sold to a single store. Merchant processors sold to a single store, consumer wallets, invoicing apps, schedulers, BPOs, and agencies do not belong.

The layers

Payments is PayFac-as-a-service and platform payments. Banking is embedded accounts, wallets, and treasury. Cards is issuing virtual or physical spend cards into the software's users' hands. Lending is credit or capital offered through the software the merchant already runs. Miscellaneous is orchestration, risk, onboarding, and visualization around the money, not a fifth way to take a rate. A product sits in the layer of the job, not in every layer it mentions on a homepage.

What we will claim

Facts come from pages the vendor publishes. If a fact is missing or unclear, it is omitted. Vendor claims stay vendor claims. Best For, Not For, and the Honest verdict are ours.

A short list stays short

Each layer holds at most twelve names. The category page is the whole list.
