Bank-originated POS installment loans for home improvement merchants. GreenSky administers the program and is not the lender. Merchant fees exist. The schedule is not published.
What it is
GreenSky is GreenSky, LLC’s point-of-sale consumer lending program for merchants. Current pages call it the GreenSky Program and Financing Solutions from GreenSky. The canonical site is www.greensky.com (greensky.com redirects there). Footer copy states that GreenSky, LLC and GreenSky Servicing, LLC are not lenders. Loans for the GreenSky consumer loan program are offered and made by federally insured, federal or state chartered financial institutions. All credit decisions and loan terms are determined by program lenders. GreenSky Servicing, LLC services the loans on behalf of the lender (NMLS #1416362). The merchant FAQ calls GreenSky a third party service provider and program administrator, and a credit technology platform provider supporting those banks.
This page is merchant-offered consumer credit: a contractor or retailer enrolls, the consumer applies at the point of sale, a program bank originates an installment loan, and the merchant is paid after the customer authorizes the transaction. GreenSky Patient Solutions and GreenSky Solar Financing are GreenSky’s. They are adjacent. They are not the center of this page. The current Who We Serve page leads with Home Improvement.
A March 15, 2024 newsroom release says GreenSky completed a sale from Goldman Sachs to a consortium led by Sixth Street. June 16, 2026 newsroom copy still brands the company as GreenSky, LLC, headquartered in Atlanta, administering the GreenSky Program. The product was not absorbed into a parent-bank brand.
Who it’s for
Two shapes, from GreenSky’s own pages:
- Home improvement merchants, which offer GreenSky financing directly to their customers. The merchant FAQ states that credit programs are available to home improvement merchants in the United States. The home-improvement page sells the program for HVAC, roofing, remodeling, windows and doors, pools and spas, water filtration, and home automation.
- Sponsors, defined on the merchant FAQ as a manufacturer or trade association that refers affiliate businesses into the GreenSky programs.
Who We Serve describes the merchant flow as: the customer applies in the mobile app or by phone, qualified applicants can receive a credit decision in seconds and a GreenSky account number plus loan agreement, and the merchant processes payment with that account number. Privacy policy copy says the websites and mobile applications are intended for visitors located in the United States.
It is a fit for a US contractor or specialty trade retailer that wants bank-originated installment credit at the jobsite or showroom, will complete merchant enrollment (including credit checks of the business and named principals), and does not need to hold the loan.
Standout details
- Loan type on the merchant FAQ is installment loans. The home-improvement page adds fixed-rate installment loans and promotional plans described as no interest if the purchase balance is paid in full during the promotional period, with no monthly promotional payments due during that period (GreenSky’s footnote 1). Roofing and water-filtration copy describe the financing as unsecured, and as an alternative to equity-based loans. Application disclosures also say the consumer is applying for any product offered as part of the GreenSky Program, including a fixture secured loan. Credit limits are stated as up to $100,000 on the home-improvement page (GreenSky’s footnote 3). Specific terms are subject to credit approval.
- After approval, the customer authorizes a transaction by text or email. The merchant FAQ says payments are received within two business days of that authorization, and that a merchant can take a payment the same day as approval if the customer has authorized it. Merchants invoice progress payments through the GreenSky Merchant Portal up to a staged funding limit. Pool and spa copy adds special early funding of up to 70% of the loan amount through the decking phase. Consumer applications are electronic only (online, mobile app, or with a customer-service representative by phone). Paper, fax, and email applications are not accepted. The merchant must verify identity with a government-issued photo ID.
- Merchant enrollment is a public one-page application (merchant-application on greensky.com, also served from merchant-apply.cdn.greensky.com and merchant-enrollment.greensky.com). The form asks for contractor license, federal tax ID, ACH bank details, sales volume, and business category, and states that the program may check credit of the applicant and named principals. Privacy policy copy says GreenSky underwrites merchants, including credit reports, sanctions checks, and criminal background checks. A live merchant number comes after enrollment. Home-improvement and solar pages still route “learn more” to a sales representative at 1-844-872-7406. Contact reasons include help completing enrollment and questions about a merchant application. This listing treats production as sales-led, not a self-serve live start.
- GreenSky does not publish a merchant fee schedule. The merchant FAQ says the merchant pays a small fee each time it runs a transaction, invoiced monthly for the prior month’s transactions, and tells merchants to contact the Sales Department for details. Consumer rates “vary based on the credit plan” and are subject to credit approval. This listing does not reprint a rate card.
- License sits with the program banks, not GreenSky. The current bank-partners page names two institutions making and offering loans through the GreenSky Program: Pinnacle Bank, a Tennessee bank, dba Synovus Bank (NMLS #418535), and Comenity Capital Bank, a Utah state-chartered bank, Member FDIC (NMLS #694363). A March 2024 newsroom release says the company was deepening its partnership with Synovus Bank, described there as part of the program since 2015. Use the live bank-partners page for who is currently lending.
- Geography is the United States. Merchant FAQ: credit programs are available to home improvement merchants in the United States. Footer and newsroom copy describe program loans to consumers nationwide. The merchant application lists all 50 states plus the District of Columbia for the business address. June 16, 2026 newsroom boilerplate (repeated from earlier releases) states that since inception, nearly 6 million consumers have financed more than $50 billion of commerce on GreenSky’s real time “apply and buy” technology. Those figures are GreenSky’s.
- The home-improvement page names F. H. Furr in a success-story headline. Adjacent GreenSky products: GreenSky Solar Financing (credit limits up to $100,000, terms up to 20 years, co-applicant prequalification, self-service merchant portal; welcome calls not required for qualified merchants) and GreenSky Patient Solutions (consumer servicing for medical, dental, optometric, or other healthcare-related purchases). Who We Serve does not currently list a healthcare merchant enrollment path. The merchant FAQ’s market sentence is home improvement.

Honest verdict
GreenSky is the listing to read when the job is offering bank-originated consumer installment credit at a US home improvement merchant’s point of sale. GreenSky is not a lender. Credit decisions and loan terms sit with the program banks. GreenSky administers the program, services the loans, and enrolls the merchant.
What it is not: a published merchant fee, a self-serve live start with no underwriting, or a product currently marketed on Who We Serve as open to merchants outside home improvement. A one-page application is public. Fees still go through sales. Enrollment includes merchant credit checks. If you will not complete that, stop. If the job is kitchen-table or jobsite financing for a US contractor or specialty trade retailer, start here.
